At Barrett-Jackson, $198,000. Holy Crap.

It's nice, but seriously? The Samba is aflame with comments, but mostly just congrats for the seller.

Ok, it's no secret that I've been wanting a Thing pretty hard for several years now, ( UPDATE: I checked my emails and the first foray into inquiring about a $500 Thing I found here was in 2006. 5 years, Wow) but actual life-related items keep taking my money (like food and shelter), but here's some of the best thing deals out there:

for my budget, this runs, but needs work: i don't think there's another running Thing around for this price, ($1500) with these features.UPDATE: somebody agreed with me, it's sold!




On Craigslist, there's this one, in Arkansas; again, as nice as it is (relatively), it's a steal at 3500 bucks.




as a point of comparison, here's what $800 bucks (uhm, now 700 600!) can get you, a non-runner, but it least it has an engine,

unlike this one for $900, *Update, sold to some sucker or part-needer!


or this one for $1600 (yikes!), which is a bummer. (but not too much of one for someone, either it sold or the ad was pulled!)


If I had $4500, and this qualifies as a steal as most in this condition are over $5000, I could move up to something like this:
